A volume unit equal to 1/2 quart: the US liquid pint is 473.176 mL; the UK imperial pint is 568.261 mL.
Explanation
The UK pint is about 20% larger than the US pint, so a UK pub pint of beer contains 568 mL versus 473 mL in a US pint glass. The US also has a dry pint (550.6 mL) used for produce. One US pint = 2 cups = 16 US fluid ounces. In the UK, pints remain the legally required unit for draught beer sales.
