الانحراف المغناطيسي

التعريف

الزاوية بين الشمال الحقيقي (الجغرافي) والشمال المغناطيسي في موقع معين، وتُعبَّر عنها بالدرجات شرقاً أو غرباً.

الشرح

Earth's magnetic north pole does not coincide with its geographic north pole, causing compasses to deviate from true north by an amount that varies by location and changes over time. In 2024, magnetic declination in London is approximately 0°, while in Los Angeles it is about −11° (west). Hikers, pilots, and surveyors must apply this correction to convert compass readings into accurate true bearings.

نظام إحداثيات جغرافية يستخدم الدرجات الزاوية لتحديد أي نقطة على سطح الأرض، إذ يتراوح خط العرض بين ±90° وخط الطول بين ±180°.

الاتجاه (البيرينغ)

الاتجاه الأفقي للسير أو الهدف، يُقاس بالدرجات في اتجاه عقارب الساعة من الشمال (0°/360°)، إذ يقع الشرق عند 90° والجنوب عند 180° والغرب عند 270°.
